nice proof of concept, although an issue i have is that it looks like you're using sprites that are way too big, maybe make custom smaller ones, that way sonic doesn't use all of the unique sprite tiles
Yeah, I'm not the best at art, so i just borrowed the sprites from the game gear version. The game gear has the same screen resolution as the gameboy so i thought it should be fine. I'm working on a better camera that should fix some of it
1. There are no sound effects. i would recommend using FX Hammer (here's a cool tutorial for using it) to make them, as the sounds turn out more cleaner, and usually sound more retro.
2. The recorded music is really annoying I recommend that you download MIDI files of the og soundtrack, then copy the notes down. It's tedious, but I think the result is super cool, and worth it! Or maybe somebody else already made the .uge files, or a famitracker remix you can copy.
3. I feel like the controls are a bit strange, but i understand if it's a bit too difficult to change.
Otherwise, the artwork looks amazing, and Sonic looks super awesome! I think if you can learn how to animate the flowers and water, this will become a good sonic gbc port.
about the sounds, um, yeah. I have some sound effects for jumping and coin collecting and such but I can't play them until I can get a .uge sonic theme because currently the bg music is a bunch of sound effects strung together. I'm also not very good at making the music but I might try. The controls are going to be pretty weird at least until platformer plus is supports 3.2, but once that is released, you can expect for things to feel better.

dude! first of all: how does the music run so good? i mean yeah there are scratchs but other than that the music is one to one! second of all:
DUDE!! like not to be rude or anything but talk about bad movement!
and another question: how on goddanm earth does all the sprites work so well???
Interesting, physics feel very close to the original albeit a bit stiff.

Thanks for the Advice!
